Bob’s Biv Trip 27th Sept 2009
A small group of three, Angus Macdonald, Dave Collins & Ian Fussell (scribe) met at the Belfast hotel for the trip to Bob’s Camp Biv and with daylight saving starting this may have been the reason why more club members did not make it.
We met Neil Climo at Mt Thomas car park and proceeded up Track 2 into light overcast weather. This cleared at the top with sunny skies but threatening heavy clouds coming across from the west. The track out to Bob’s Biv has been remarked by DOC with new signage and clearing of the top part of the track.
We arrived at Bob’s Biv to be met by Bill (a hunter) who was having a nap in the Biv where we disturbed him on arrival. We had lunch at the Biv and discussed with Bill the hunting prospects in the area.
We returned the same way to the cars in cloudy weather but luckily the rain held off for the day. Thanks to Angus and the other members for the entertaining day where lively discussion was held on many subjects and many lies were told.
